Summer Sea Term

Like IDO Week, for most Maritime College graduates, summer sea term (aka "SST" and "cruise") is a defining experience that solidifies their bonds to their classmates and to the college itself.  Boys become men, girls become women and we all become a part of the fabric that makes up the Fort Schuyler experience after we complete our first cruise. 

For many of us, the cruises were our first opportunity to travel abroad. 

And while the food was horrible, the work was hard, and conditions were crowded, almost all of us would do it all over again if we could.

And, unfortunately, we wind up telling the same "sea stories" over and over again for many years to come, long after we have graduated! :)
